Bite the Tail (rough draft)
This shirt is a discharge screen print of art that was based on a photograph of a batik design I had done long before tinyrun. I’m experimenting with ways to get more shirts into more hands and this ‘faux batik’ was printed with a required minimum order. The use of discharge instead of printing with the usual ink was to achieve the ‘no ink’ feel of batik. Initially the shirts feel a little stiff in the print area, but after the first wash, the hand of the shirt is back to its original softness.
Since I had to order the minimum, initially I offered it up to my twitter followers with the option to preorder and choose the shirt color, and now the remaining randomly selected colors and sizes are up for your consideration. It has a feel of a rough draft to me, and I will not be repeating the process for this design again. Once these are gone, they are gone.
