Banks and banks of humming machinery. I’ve never seen so many knobs.
Maybe I’ll try that one there. Hold my hand Charlie, there’s a good fellow…
Things will be back to looking good later, I swears. In the meantime, look away…
[EDIT 06/09/08] UPDATE: Things seem to be working better, displaying more consistently. Welcome to the new look. As usual, if anyone notices anything, let me know. At this point, general site issues should be resolved, and let the tinkering, the endless fiddling, begin…
ALSO, those that payed attention to the apple.com update today probably found as many errors as I did…aw. It’s nice to see that even the big boys occasionally need a moment to straighten their tie, tuck in their shirt.
This post is mostly to benefit the RSS friends of Tiny Run. I just wanted to make sure you caught the pics I added to the feelings are like tapeworms shirt/entry. This one features my forward looking half-profile!
I really wanted people to have a more of an idea of what this shirt is like. It’s almost like a mini-quilt on your chest. With words. I’d like to hear if anyone has seen anything like this before, because I never have. Two days left for this design and then something new and exciting!
Update RE: byzoek shirts: I’m still waiting on that refund, as soon as I get my monies back I will be reordering these…
Update RE: buttons: just got the second round of color corrected buttons, they are looking soooo much better. Just one more fix and then the final order for those should go out…
Update RE: store: I’m working on it. Really really really.
Hm. It seems that contracting things to be done by outside parties is not as wonderful a process as I would have hoped.
The byzoek shirts were mis-printed, with a real forehead-slap error. Nice, right? Well, it’s going to eat up some time to get these back, refunded, and then ordered again. I almost felt like I was getting caught up when the bacon shirts went out this week.
Back to the grind again. Silly vendors.

That’s alot of bacon.
The bacon shirts finally went out today, both the domestic and international. They are B-E-A-uuuuuuutiful. I’m really pleased. I hope those brave and patient people who ordered them find them to be as glorious. About ten of these were extras I ordered, just because. They’ll be up in the store, when the store is up. I’m hoping in the next week or so. Join the email list for updates and first access.
What I like most is when I came home yesterday wearing mine, and when I closed the front door behind me, before I flipped on the light, the fat was glowing there, on my chest.
Heh.
There’s something about fruition, and seeing an idea like this through that can be so satisfying.

“feelings are like tapeworms”

This shirt consists of a patterned fabric which has been embroidered with the phrase ‘feelings are like tapeworms’ which has then been stitched to the chest of the shirt. This method of adornment is something I’ve tinkered with previously, but I think this is a new pinnacle. I love the fabric, thread color. It takes a bit of time and work to assemble, but I find the final result to be steeped in a sense of a little bit of “classy.”
I hope you like it. When I asked Lisa if I could quote her she said, “that’s awesome! i love it! i said it and i still agree with it. i’d stand by the statement and would even wear it on a shirt.”
[EDIT 6/04/2008] UPDATE! Here are some additional shots of the shirt. Actually being worn! Out in the sun, even. I thought it might be helpful to visualize, give a more accurate idea of what this one looks like…

Seriously, I’m working on it. Gimmie a second….
[EDIT MONDAY 10:30 PM] Ok, I needed more than a second. The shirt is done, need to take pictures and write button code, fix shipping and go do work in the morning. Everything should be done tomorrow afternoon? To those who are waiting, your patience is appreciated…
(BACON shirts will be shipped on Wednesday!)
I don’t think it’s a terrible overuse of pop culture to butcher a Pulp Fiction reference to serve my own ends. I think we can easily say, with emphasis, “now that’s some tasty looking bacon.”
I’m so pleased with this stitch out I received from the embroiderer, I can’t even describe it. All the samples I did on my own couldn’t touch this quality. I’m due to have the bacon shirts in two days. Two days. This combined with the arrival of the byzoek shirts, and the test buttons, I’m about to pee myself. I think we could call this a culmination point. A great conjunction? When you hold the bacon in your hand, you’ll have a glimmer what I’m talking about. It’s powerful. And then you remember it glows in the dark.
It is great. I’m really happy. How’s your telepathy? If it’s up to par, you can see this is true. But then you already knew that. Did you already know that the items I have planned, the stuff that is coming is even better? I thought that. Can I say that? I want to. I dare to. Good stuff, good people, good shirts.
If your telepathy is on the fritz, I will let you in on one little bit that’s mine. I’m planning a sequel to the bacon. It may not have the sheer power of embroidered bacon, but it signals the development of an entire series of embroidered breakfast related shirts, next installment maybe in July. It may not be pushing the boundaries of shirt the way I originally intended, or as far as I’d like…but have you seen what’s out there? And I’ve got some time in between, and some time afterward. Time and room to push. You’ll see what I’m talking about shortly.
I’m so happy.
